School is almost out, thank goodness. I'm tired of being the homework assistant and the nagging that goes with it. Did I ever do that to my parents? What's wrong with this picture? Just do the work dagnabit, and stop whining. Me thinks I need to tweak my parenting a bit.

Thomas and I celebrated our 9th Anniversary yesterday! Good Lord how quickly the years have passed. We went to a really nice Italian restaurant (apropos) called Undici (which means 11, so I guess we'll have to hang around here a few more years so we can celebrate our 11th there). Anyhow, we settled on a particular wine, a meaty Italian red; when the Owner told us it was from Umbria we just looked at each other and smiled. Not sure if you all remember, but that's where he proposed, under the light of the Tuscan (well, Umbrian) sun! It was a delicious dinner and so nice to share some quiet time.
This is, quite literally, the kitchen in Corciano where Thomas got down on his knee, after 2 days of 'trains, plains and automobiles' to find us, and proposed. It's good to remember him like that; helps when I sometimes want to clobber him! We plan on returning next year, to celebrate 10 years of wedded-ness, Andrew's High School Graduation, and a significant milestone for me. I hope we can keep that dream alive! It would mean so much to me. I can still remember how it felt to throw open the french doors of that little kitchen and cook up a storm, every once in a while taking a peek outside to admire the acres and acres of sunflowers. It was amazing; all of it. The sights, the smells, the people, the weather, the food - there's nothing like plopping yourself somewhere and trying to 'live'. One of my most memorable moments, top o'the list for certain.

Have a great weekend yous guys!
xoxo,
P
