First outing, sans kids tonight. Made the rounds of Red Bank! 'Buona Serra' for cocktails (guidos, sidekicks, aging beauties and lots of bald pates, most shaved, some not so much) - This place is crazy! Second stop, 'Ashes' - local cigar bar and restaurant, but smoking has been temporarily suspended. Dang, I was so looking forward to the smell of cigars and red wine. No worries, a glass of Chard and a plate of Carpaccio sufficed. Last stop, 'Red' - cooler, hipper, good food, better company! I love date nights!
Check out this site to see what Red Bank looks like - it's totally charming! http://wirednewyork.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18368

So here are a few tidbits for the day:
- New Jersey Home Depot (and Lowe's) has the most adundant selection of white picket fencing you've ever seen. Wood, fiberglass, plastic - you name it, they have it. You can just imagine the scene; picket fences everywhere, quintessential East Coast charming. And yup, our house has a picket fence, too!
- New Jersey Costco has the best fleece 'hangout' pants. For once, the size was right, not too tight, not too baggy and not too high-waisted. Do you guys have these too? I got the black and white ones, kind of a toile, with black velvet tie. Might need to get another pair!
- Rosebud Lip Salve vs. Carmex Cherry Click-Stick. OK, I'm a Rosebud lover from way before it was cool to have. You know, dipped a little too much for the lips so onto the cuticles it goes; best stuff in the world! But here, once on the finger forever frozen; kind of like when you used to play with your mom's candles. So, alas, I've converted to Carmex Cherry 'in a stick'! And I'm saving my Rosebud for indoor use only, or at least it warms up again.
- Can one of you please beg Trader Joe's to open a store here! I miss my TJ's fix!

Our Family Has Landed ...
After too many months of being apart, our family is now happily under one roof in Rumson, New Jersey. We're now only halfway up to our ears in moving boxes and making progress daily. There's order in nesting, but chaos in not being able to find the 'right' spot for things.
Here are some randoms:
- I BBQ'd tonight in 36 degree weather - feeling like a BAMF about that!
- Sleeping in flannel sheets is so cozy. With my hubby, even cozier.
- There is nothing like a cup of Peet's in the morning. (mille grazie friends)
- My boys are happy here, the cold is 'fun' and the park is one block away.
- I really do like Philly Cheesesteaks!
- All Day Kindergarten ROCKS!
Love to all, more later.
